NOTES

  1. No surviving burial record
  2. Presumably the husband of Ales Miler als Bell who died in 1646
  3. Ales nominated John, Thomas, Hugh, [Finlo?] and Isabel, and a grandchild named Bridson in her will; matches closely to the children nominated in Thomas's will
  4. If this is indeed Ales & Thomas were married, then the marriages of Ales's children suggest that they were born 1600-1610s which supports Thomas's will having underage children:
    • John died in 1654, leaving his wife Ellin Bell and son Thomas. Ellin's 1682 will identifies a daughter Catherine
    • Thomas is probably the Thomas Mylrea who married Isabel (als ??). They had children Thomas, John, Martin & Isabel around the 1630s
    • Ffinloe married Elin Stoell. They had two daughters in the 1630s - Katherine (married Thomas Quaile 1654) and Jane who died 1658. Ellin died 1643 and Ffinloe 1650
    • A Hugh McIlrea died in 1648 in Malew - almost son of Ales, with a wife possibly Margaret Stoele and siblings John, Thomas, Issable
    • Margaret (Marriot) married Bridson and died in 1643
  5. There is much about the Malew Mylreas of the 1600s and early 1700s that does not hang together so extreme caution must be exercised
